Healing Herbs In Your Backyard

I've recently taken an interest in wild crafting and foraging. I remember reading about the healing properties of various herbs, thinking they were found in some "magical forest", lol. I was paying an arm and a leg for them, not knowing that they were right under my nose! Here's some healing herbs I found in my walk today.

Shepherd's Purse
Shepherd's Purse is known for treating excessive bleeding. It was traditionally used for heavy menstrual bleeding, first aid and hemorrhaging after giving birth.

Yellow Dock
I have taken Yellow Dock root for years to treat iron-deficiency anemia. The mineral iron is concentrated in the root of the plant. When I was pregnant, I made a Yellow Dock concentrate to help to bring my iron levels up and to ward off fatigue during my 1st and 2nd trimesters.

Ribwort Plantain
This variety of plantain is great for bleeding disorders and is also known for helping respiratory infections. You can make an at-home cough syrup with Ribwort plantain, as it is a great expectorant.
